The reason why Kershaw gave the groove folders their name is because of the unique 3D machined blade. I recently got a good deal on the tanto version with black blade and my review will be based on that knife.

What I like about the knife:

1. Not only does the textured blade look very cool, but it doesn't take away from the performance of your knife. Each blade is crafted with Sandvik 13C26 steel, which holds a great edge and comes shaving sharp out of the box.

2. Adding to the Groove's durability is it's 410 stainless steel handle with G-10 overlays. This handle is comfortable in your hand, super tough, and the G-10 scales provide an excellent grip.

3. Kershaw uses their time-proven liner lock in the groove, which has no up and down or side to side movement in the locked position.

4. When you buy a Kershaw Groove, you get the option of a drop point blade with silver or rainbow colors, or a black tanto style blade. Each style comes with a 3 ½ inch blade that is legal to carry almost anywhere.

5. You can switch the pocket clip to allow for tip-up or tip-down carry. The stainless pocket clip doesn't wear out your pockets too badly either.

What I didn't like:

The pocket clip is not ambidextrous to allow for left handed carry. I also wish that the Groove was offered with at least partial serrations.

Overall:

The Kershaw Groove folding knife is beautiful enough to be loved by collectors and practical enough to be trusted for everyday carry and use. It's unique blade design and rugged construction make the Groove a steal for the asking price.

You can get a Kershaw Groove for $50 or less at my website http://www.KnifeSell.com
